Todd Pinder is a shaper based in Oahu Hawaii. Todd was born in Florida and grew up on Key West Island in the Bahamas in a family with maritime lineage.
Todd was built around the marine industry and draws his inspiration from craftsmen, he started shaping his own surfboards at a young age and quickly acquired a skill set from shaping to glass and sanding. He has shaped for such greats as Carl Schaper, Town and Country and Donald Takayama.
Todd has a great friendship with Joel Tudor and his son Todd for whom he shapes longboards, eggs and guns. His connection to the Tudors and his passion for historical boards opened the doors and archives of legendary shapers including Joe Quigg who became his mentor.
Todd's days are filled with early morning surf sessions at his home spot in Bowls, shaping and spending time with his wife and kids.
His designs come from former templates from Gordon and Smtith (G&S) where he regularly shapes for his California orders, David Nuuhiwa, Mike Hynson, and Joe Quigg who he has modernized and customized with the help of Tudors and other pro surfers.
He also shapes for Joel Tudor's labels THC and Tudor Surfboards.
His most popular models are the Newhiwa, the High Too, the Ala Bing, the Herb, the Mind Machine and the Zeppelin and of course the Joel and Tosh model and the "POPE" (Protege of Phil Edwards)
