No one chooses to become a surfboard shaper. You certainly don't choose it for the money or the fame. Tom dreamed of surfboards from a young age and continues to do so. With an intense interest in surfboard history, he has immersed himself in all types of surfboard design through the decades (and centuries). Tom has rekindled the fire of the old alaia. He has advanced the construction of hollow wood surfboards and created a new kind of endless surfboard and several endless surfboard designs.
It was the desire to understand and experience the joy of surfing on every craft that led Tom to become a master of the surfboard.
