Barrett Miller is a young California shaper from Santa Cruz, California. Excellent surfer, he started shaping to surf the boards of his dreams. He was quickly spotted by Joel Tudor, who asked him to shape logs and guns for his Hawaiian season. Today he shapes for his own label and also for THC and Joel Tudor Surfboards at Lamination Surf Design in San Diego.
Beau Young grew up with one of the most famous and iconic figures in the surfing world, his father: the great Nat Young. Beau and his siblings were all riding the waves long before they could swim. Surfing as much as humanly possible as a child was definitely Beau's way of life, before and after school, always wet was the norm. Results in competitive surfing were slow, but in his mid to late teens there was evidence of promise with junior pro finals in France and Portugal.
